An amazingly clear image straight from the garden onto your leather

With my unique yet efficient Botanical printing method I will show you how to create a wonderful print of your local leaves on leather with a colourful background. Here a range of Japanese Acers together with the beautiful Cotinus leaves and a bright Cochineal dye background.

The True Colour of the Cotinus project

Set in Glasgow Scotland, I set up "The True Colour of the Cotinus" project in May 2020 during the first Covid 19 UK lockdown.

In the middle of the Pandemic crisis, I became aware of the need for creativity of many and the frustration of being "locked" at home and launched a one off workshop online on zoom to allow beginners to create beautiful Eco-prints at home on paper.

Little did I know that this was just the beginning of the crisis and that the Cotinus blue prints would capture the heart of so many.

Just a few years later, with many beginners involved we have printed blue on paper, fabric, we have extracted pigment and dyes and now we are applying my method on leather for blue prints.

This method is suitable for beginners but you will need Cotinus leaves (smoke bush) of a red variety to succeed with blue prints.

The printing method will give great results with any other tree leaves.
